Speed Limit Reduction Takes Effect: Beginning Monday February 22 and continuing through March, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will install a series of upgraded signs along State Route 115 in Bear Creek Township.
Part of the changes include a reduction in the speed limit, which will go into effect as soon as the signs are installed. The entire corridor between Interstate 81 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike interchange will become a 45 mile-per-hour zone.
The signing changes along Route 115 will include new and larger signs, relocation of other signs and the addition of chevrons and reflectors for viewing enhancement. All new warning signs will have reflectors attached to the sign posts.
This is one of many changes motorists will notice in the coming months relative to improving safety for all who travel along State Route 115 in Bear Creek Township.
Parents are also reminded not to park along the highway in front of Bear Creek Community Charter School. Ample parking is available in the side lot and the reserve lot behind 1900 Bear Creek Boulevard, providing parents with a safer are to park when picking up students or visiting the School.
You cooperation is greatly appreciated.
