Open House Events

Bear Creek Community Charter School will host a series of Open Houses for all parents of students attending the School. Parents will have the opportunity to meet their child's teachers, visit classrooms and received valuable information on school programs, including the new Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. Come and gather the information you need to start the school year off on the right foot . . . . hope to see you there!

Kindergarten through Second Grade Tuesday, September 7th 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Third Grade through Fifth Grade Wednesday, September 8th 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sixth Grade through Eighth Grade (Middle School) Thursday, September 9th 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Bear Creek Community Charter School PTO will hold a Book Fair the week of September 6th through September 10th. Students will be provided the opportunity to participate in the Book Fair during their regularly-scheduled Library Class that week. The Book Fair will also be open during the Open House on the evenings of September 7th, 8th and 9th.

Community Rummage Sale

The Bear Creek Foundation will host a Community Rummage Sale on Saturday, September 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Community Charter School. The general public is invited to participate! To learn more Click Here



Volunteer Reward Program

All parents are urged to volunteer their time in support of Bear Creek Community Charter School. School-wide family volunteer input dramatically increases the effectiveness of the overall quality of the School’s educational programs. When you volunteer time, don't forget to complete a Volunteer Hours Slip and drop it in the metal mailbox outside the Main Office to be sure your time gets logged. Bear Creek Community Charter School
is the first and only free public charter school operating in Luzerne County. Since our opening in 2004 with 98 students, 428 students are currently enrolled with the school's maximum capacity set at 430 students.
