State Route 115 Traffic The school administration closely monitors traffic along State Route 115, particularly in the school zone. It is readily apparent that many motorists clearly disobey the posted speed limits, even with the blinking traffic signals that are located along both the northbound and southbound lanes. This ignorance creates a serious safety issue for not only the school busses filled with children entering and exiting school property, but also for the parents visiting the school. Bear Creek Community Charter School maintains an open dialogue and a collaborative relationship with command officers of Troop P of the Pennsylvania State Police at Wyoming. They too share our concerns for student safety, and are committed to aggressive traffic enforcement in this area. School Zone Signal Upgrades We have also been informed that the Bear Creek Township Board of Supervisors are pursuing funding opportunities to upgrade signals and signage along SR115 in the area of the school zone. A new traffic signal will also be installed at the intersection of SR115 and the entrance to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Parking Lot Safety The Board of Trustees urges all parents to cooperate with the safety measures that have been implemented at the school, including not coming to the school to pick up students until 3:30 p.m. each day, which provides time for the school busses to load and exit the school parking lot. We also remind parents that parking is available at St. Christopher Church on State Route 115 for most evening events, with FREE shuttle service back and forth to the School.
